Who Can Participate?

Anyone providing early learning and care opportunities to the children of Plumas County can participate in Plumas STARS:

  • Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) providers
  • Home visiting (HV) program staff
  • Plumas County Library branches
  • License exempt program staff
  • Licensed family child care home staff
  • Licensed center based child care staff


Why Participate?


Participating in Plumas STARS allows you to receive training, resources, and support from the Early Learning Specialist. 

Annual incentive levels are based on program type and level of participation:

  • Library branches, HV, FFN: $250
  • Small Family Child Care Home: $500
  • Large Family Child Care Home: $1,000
  • Licensed and license-exempt center: $1,500 
  • Fully rated sites can receive higher levels of incentives. 


What is Required?

 

All Plumas STARS participating sites will develop a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) with the Early Learning Specialist (ELS). 

Participation is based on individual/program goals and includes the following:

  • Completion of an initial application
  • Development of a QIP and participation in related training and technical assistance.
  • Four visits per year with the ELS
    (these may be in-person, by phone, or virtual)
  • Sites pursuing the full rating process will have additional requirements.
